I am a Melbourne-based archivist, working for one of Australia’s leading universities. My research interest has to do with intersections between industry and community and the stories within, and I have written and presented extensively on the topic, including the design of a sound walk for Moreland Library about the Free Speech fights in Brunswick in the 1930s and the curation of an exhibition on car culture. In addition I head up the Australasian Sound Recordings Association and have a practical involvement and interest in the significance of Australia’s sound heritage. I was formerly the editor (2010-2015) for the Australasian Sound Recording Association’s (ASRA) journal Sound Archive. I have an ongoing interest in field recording and environmental soundscapes in respect to what they can tell us about the health of environment and the creative context from which they emerge. I also recently completed a Masters in Museum Studies & Cultural Heritage.
