J Ferguson-Allen 2023 opt 2

Jo Ferguson-Allen is a qualified secondary teacher who has facilitated community music across all ages for 30 years.

A professional singer and educator, for the past nine years Jo has been facilitating group singing sessions for people with Parkinson’s Disease. With a wealth of experience singing and performing across multiple styles and disciplines, Jo has amassed a large repertoire of music that has enabled her to draw people from all walks of life together to connect through the shared experience of singing in a group, with all the benefits that come with it.

As a singer, guitarist, teacher and tech junkie, Jo has found that this unique skillset has allowed her to develop and expand the Parkinsong program to it’s current, broader community based “Sing For Health” experience, and this includes streaming her weekly sessions for those who can’t make it in person.

In addition to her work, Jo is wife to a patient husband and mother to two teenagers and two fur babies. Her other passions include all forms of the Creative Arts, and celebrating life by spending time connecting with family and friends, and, of course, singing at every opportunity, be it on stage, in a choir, in the car or in the backyard!! Sing! Sing! Sing!

A free online festival exploring living with Parkinson’s and Quality of Life Approaches to creative ageing across communities.
