How I got where I am today

My mother said I began singing my first melody when I was 3 months old. and I sang it over and over. I was 4 the first time I went on stage, and though I was shy, I always felt safe on stage. I have never stopped pursing it, and I have been singing/peforming professionally since 1999. I took a break for a few years when I had a child in 2003, but I have been back doing it full -time as my career since 2014.

Whānau

My father's side is Cree/Metis and they are all singers. My great grandmother was a medicine woman and my aunts have special spiritual abilities. I believe the abilities resonate within me, and are expressed through my voice.
My Mother's family is Scottish, and they also love music and singing. My mother has sang my entire life.

What grounds me?

Spending time with my family grounds me. We are very close. I spend time alone with my dog, my son, my plants in my home to nourish myself. I also do yoga, meditate and go on walks. My creative ideas always come to me when I allow quiet so the best way for me to be creative is become silent, then the dam bursts open.
