Award-winning visual artist and arts educator, with a strong focus on creative thinking and concept development in his arts practice and in the delivery of his workshops. Exhibiting regularly is solo and group shows he works in a range of media and with a wide cross section of the community.

Passionate about Community Cultural Development with a strong belief in the positive impact creativity plays in a healthy and active community. With a friendly and engaging personality he works closely with his community to develop opportunities for creative expression.

Mark Paddick is an award winning Visual Artist and Art Teacher with 25 years’ experience in delivering innovative art programs in schools and the community. Born in Adelaide, Mark completed a Bachelor of Design Teaching before being employed as a Visual Arts teacher in Queensland in 1986. With 25 years in Art Education he was awarded the position of Experienced Senior Teacher. Mark registered his own Arts business, Mark Paddick Art, in 2011to pursue his passion for creating. Currently residing in Flagstone, Qld Mark works across the Scenic Rim in Community Cultural Development.

Holding his first exhibition in Gladstone in 2000 Mark has continued to exhibit regularly in Queensland, including his Regional Gallery show, “Aisle 10” in 1995. Mark is a prolific painter who constantly creates work for both solo and group exhibitions as well as commissioned works. The innovation is mark’s work has been recognised through his inclusion in numerous private and public collections and as a four-time winner of the Martin Hanson Memorial Art Prize.

Working primarily in oil paints, Mark has considerable experience with a range of media including: Printmaking Installation Art Sculpture Drawing Encaustic Wax Photography Graphic Design Aerosol & Stencil Art
Recently Mark has begun to explore the use of aerosol paint in his art making and through his community workshop delivery.

Currently employed as a Cultural Projects Officer with Scenic Rim Regional Council, Mark manages the Regional Arts Development Fund program in conjunction with Arts Queensland, Public Art and Heritage. Mark has had considerable experience in Community Cultural Development work including the development and delivery of workshops with: Indigenous youth and emerging artists Special Needs and disengaged students Mental Health Fellowship of Queensland Aged care Australian South Sea Islanders Students with Disabilities Primary and secondary students Emerging and established artists.

Mark is currently a touring artist with Flying Arts Alliance in Queensland where he has been involved in a range of workshop across the state including: Public Skate Park Murals Concept Development workshops and Webinars Professional Development for teachers Ipswich Special School Workshops. Aged care facilities Private and State Primary and Secondary schools.

Mark has kept current with the implementation of the Australian Arts Curriculum and retains his full teacher registration which includes working with children.
