Day 1 - Wednesday 2nd
Healthy places are the key to healthy communities. Coralie brings with her nearly a decade’s worth of experience in creative placemaking and most notably her work with creative social enterprise Gap Filler, which was created in response to the 2010 and 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. Through the lens of some of Gap Filler’s projects such as the Dance-O-Mat, Pallet Pavilion, the Placemaking at One Central programme and more, she will share how creative placemaking can transform communities into places that are better connected, more resilient and healthier. She will also discuss the role of placemaking and the Commons in our rapidly changing times as we grapple with the implications of climate change She will share Gap Filler’s philosophy around creating new, fun, playful experiences for our communities as a way of seeding more long-term, meaningful change.
