Live Stream / Recording
Thursday 7th May, 12:00pm - 12:30pm AEST
Hosting for Thursday's Little Lunch #28 moves to the festival city and the wonderful team from Access2Arts. Expect the unexpected when Martin Sawtell is joined by award-winning performance poet Alison Paradox.
Access 2 Arts are an experienced disability led organisation. They are passionate about the arts and disability. They remove barriers to the arts and arts opportunities and work creatively to expand best practice in arts and disability.
Alison's work predominantly explores the clinical violation of the body, and the social model of disability, through self-narrative journeys. Weaving stories of stoic persistence as a childhood burns survivor, through experiences with scoliosis, eating disorders, surgical violation, and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Alison explores personal detachment to the physical body, and articulates injury and trauma through metaphor, soundscape, and visual performance.
